EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

From the Managing Directors of FoodPLUS GmbH

“Exciting breakthrough moment”

In 2022, we saw continued progress and success for GLOBALG.A.P. The launch of IFA v6 and GRASP v2 marked the culmination of a lot of hard work and an exciting breakthrough moment on the journey toward smart farm assurance solutions. Over the course of the year (and now well into 2023), we made a significant step into the smart era by continuing to develop our portfolio to offer more streamlined, intuitive, and digitalized solutions for the entire sector.

The new cross-category GGN label was seen on more products and across increased retailers and countries in 2022. It was even recognized as the “top quality label” award in aquaculture by the independent Dutch educational sustainability foundation, Milieu Centraal.

GLOBALG.A.P. took part in many events, in some cases with a long-awaited return to onsite events for the first time since the breakout of the pandemic. Our TOUR stops also made a comeback with events in Mexico, Tanzania, and Japan! Of course, we remained flexible and accessible in hosting online events and webinars as well.

We also saw the launch of the Registered Trainer program, succeeding the Farm Assurer program with an increased emphasis on training. Along with the enhancement of GLOBALG.A.P. IT systems, the new Trademark Policy, and the continued expansion of GLOBALG.A.P. products and services, this highlights our ongoing work in strengthening the safe and consistent delivery of GLOBALG.A.P. standards around the globe.

Looking forward, IFA v6 Smart and GRASP v2 will become obligatory in January 2024 to allow a sufficient transition period for all stakeholders. We are also pleased about several new and revised standards and add-ons which will be launched over the course of 2023 and 2024, increasing integrity in the GLOBALG.A.P. portfolio and placing more intuitive, smart farm assurance solutions at your fingertips.
