INTEGRATED FARM ASSURANCE

Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) is GLOBALG.A.P.’s flagship standard.
Applicable to agriculture, floriculture, livestock, and aquaculture in 2022, it was developed in collaboration with stakeholders from across the global supply chain
and takes a holistic approach to responsible farming through the key topics of food safety, environmental sustainability, animal welfare, workers’ well-being,
production processes, and traceability. IFA is tried, tested, and trusted by almost 200,000 producers in more than 130 countries worldwide.

GLOBALG.A.P.’s most widely used standard is IFA, which was available in four versions in 2022 (v5.2, v5.3-GFS, v5.4-1-GFS, and v6).

*Please note that the method of calculation for productive area certified to IFA for plants was adjusted in 2023 and is now based on the first harvest only. The above data reflects the updated calculation for the period 2018–2022.

News from IFA for fruit and vegetables:

Over 700 Malian smallholder mango farmers achieved IFA certification in 2022, gaining access to international export markets! This was the result of six years of collaboration between FoodPLUS and Bayer through BayG.A.P., Greenyard, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
