Certification bodies
GLOBALG.A.P. relies on independent third-party CBs to issue certificates. Only GLOBALG.A.P. approved CBs may conduct GLOBALG.A.P. audits on farms, issue GLOBALG.A.P. certificates to producers, and update the GLOBALG.A.P. database.
We would like to thank these CBs for being a valuable part of the GLOBALG.A.P. system. We recognize their continued efforts to improve performance and enable good agricultural practices to spread around the world!
The role of the Certification Body Committee
The Certification Body Committee is made up of experts representing certification bodies which are GLOBALG.A.P. associate members and ISO Guide 17065 accredited to at least one GLOBALG.A.P. scope. The committee discusses implementation issues, provides feedback, and represents certification body activities within the GLOBALG.A.P. system.
Governance and network updates
GLOBALG.A.P. Advisory Board
FoodPLUS GmbH is governed by an Advisory Board of elected representatives from producer and retailer industries, headed by a chairperson. There are an equal number of retail and supplier representatives, reflecting the supply chain partnership. Within the supplier seats, one seat is reserved for each of the three GLOBALG.A.P. scopes (crops, livestock, and aquaculture).
The Advisory Board members give input to the strategy and annual action plan, appoint technical committee members, adopt the GLOBALG.A.P. family of standards and rules, and promote and support GLOBALG.A.P. world-wide.
News 2021:
Voting closed for the 2021 election on 17 June. The following seats were up for election:
- 3 of 5 supplier seats for crops (of which minimum one is reserved for Europe)
- The supplier seat for livestock (1 of 1)
- The supplier seat for aquaculture (1 of 1)
- 2 of 5 retailer seats
The first meeting between the formerly elected (in 2019) and the newly elected Advisory Board members took place on 8 and 9 November 2021.

NATIONAL TECHNICAL WORKING GROUPS
NTWGs are set up by GLOBALG.A.P. Community Members in countries around the world to help with the implementation of GLOBALG.A.P. standards on a local scale.
NTWGs identify implementation challenges specific to the country and develop guidelines, known as National Interpretation Guidelines (NIGs), to help overcome these challenges. These guidelines provide guidance to CBs and producers on how best to implement GLOBALG.A.P. control points and compliance criteria at a national level. NTWGs are made up of qualified experts and stakeholders from the country in question.
